I’ll be at the Univeristy of Michigan’s Applied Physics Progarm at 3:00 for the Outstanding Individual Employee Award to Lauren Segall. In 1987 as the initial administrator of the Ph.D. program’s inception I enjoyed the thrill of finding the best minds in the country to begin their graduate studies under Director Professor Roy Clarke. At one point we were ranked sixth in the Nation for our percentage of non-traditional graduate students; i.e., women and minorities. I retired in 1999. The program continues its mission to bring the best scientists to Michigan.
